Similes and Metaphors
A simile is a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, using like or as. Similes help your reader be able to visualize better and make connections. (e.g., as brave as a lion, crazy like a fox )
A metaphor is a figure of speech where one thing is being compared to another. The comparison is not realistic, and often the word is is used between the noun and the comparison. (e.g. He is a race car. He is a pig.)
